8th Grade
What to Expect
Our eighth graders are busy preparing for Confirmation, graduation and high school during this final year at Our Lady of Angels. They are learning about the importance of government and why citizens need to be informed. Our literature-based reading program challenges the students to apply what they learn in the world around them. We encourage them to set the example in Christian behavior through service to others, peer mediation, student council activities, and working with the second graders in the Big Brothers and Sisters program.

I received my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from John Carroll University. In order to be an effective teacher, I need to know my students and they need to know me. As an educator, it is my duty to be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about my subject matter. I believe I need to help each child succeed in school and together, we can do anything.

I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Notre Dame College of Ohio. I believe it is important to give students the foundation they need in high school and beyond by challenging them to develop their strengths and become independent thinkers and workers. I love to watch my students ‘get’ a concept and see the light bulb go on!

I received my Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Mathematics and Theology from Xavier University. I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment that encourages students to challenge themselves, appreciate their individuality, and express their ideas in a safe and supportive environment. I aspire to motivate, and inspire each student not just to do math, but to appreciate it. It is important to consistently facilitate authentic material the students can relate to, and provide opportunities to surpass conventional expectations.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Education Degree and minor in psychology from Baldwin Wallace College. I want to teach, empower, and encourage my students to work to their full potential spiritually, academically, and mentally. I would like my students to realize that it is okay to make mistakes in life. It is in making these mistakes that they learn life’s greatest lessons. I want my students to be confident, polite, and self-reliant.
